In just a few days, I’ll be turning 25! Cue the party music!

These past few weeks have been a time of reflection for me as I look back on year 24 and remember the challenges & struggles, as well as the unforgettable & fun memories made. There are so many moments from this past year that I could write about, but I have boiled it down to four (not easy!). So without further ado:

The Top 4 of Year 24

4. A new job. I had no intention of switching jobs this past year, none at all. But I decided to apply to some jobs that looked promising anyway. I remember looking at a particular job posting and wondering where the heck Adelphi, MD was. I googled it and immediately dismissed the idea of working for the university because it would be quite the commute. When they reached out for an interview, I was skeptical, but said yes. And as I was in the middle of last minute wedding planning, I was thinking it wouldn’t be the best idea to change jobs now. So when the job offer call came in the middle of my honeymoon, I shocked myself by saying yes. A new apartment, a new last name, and a new job? Was I crazy? Apparently! And it has been the best decision. Working for UMUC (University of Maryland University College) is a blast. My coworkers are dynamic (and so fun!) and I get to do what I love.

3. There are so many amazing memories from year 24 and it was really hard to boil it all down to 4. But when I think back, one of the most fun memories was my bachelorette weekend. I got to spend the weekend with my sisters & closest friends. I hadn’t laughed that hard in a long while and it was truly a memory I treasure. Plus it didn’t hurt that we stayed in the cutest little beach house!

2. The many trips to see family. I know, I know, it’s kind of cheating to say this since it’s not really a singular memory. But the trip down to Florida with Alan for Thanksgiving to visit my in laws was so fun and relaxing. And of course the trip home to PA to spend time with my entire family at Christmas is always on of the highlights of my year. There’s always so much laughter and fun with my family and no matter what anyone says, poop jokes will always be funny (that’s for you mom!)

1. Number one is, without contest, marrying my best friend. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for my husband, Alan. He is patient, encouraging, kind, hilarious, godly, and overall a true blessing. Marriage is not easy. I am reminded daily of my sin and failing as I try to love my husband like Jesus has called me to. But man, marriage is also amazing! There is no one I would rather have beside me to navigate life with than Alan. I wish I could go back and relive our wedding day because I loved every moment of it. Plus I wish I had eaten more cake.

So there you have it! My top 4 of year 24. I’m praying that year 25 would be just as memorable, full of growth, and lots and lots of laughter.
