HELLO MY GOOD FRIENDS!
Since I am not shopping this month (and I hope some of you joined me in the challenge), I want to show you some ways to create fresh looks from what’s already in your wardrobe!
Today’s post is centered around a casual jumpsuit, something I think is a great staple piece in any wardrobe. They’re comfortable, easy to dress up or down, and is something unique to add dimension to your wardrobe. I will be honest, I was not sold on this jumpsuit when I tried it on. My friend had to convince me to get it (and my husband), but I am so happy I did. It wasn’t something that I thought I would get a lot of use out of, but I was wrong. It’s become a favorite of mine this summer! The one I purchased from Urban Outfitters is no longer available, but I found a few similar items on their site:
UO Tootsie Button-Down Cropped Jumpsuit
Here are a few from Amazon:
EHNSYZYU Women’s Summer Jumpsuit
Alexander + David Women’s Casual Summer Wide Leg Jumpsuit
DIDK Women’s Spaghetti Strap Wide Leg Jumpsuit
So without further ado, here are 5 easy ways to style a jumpsuit!
BY ITSELF
May sound counter intuitive to say this, but don’t be afraid to wear the piece alone. Accessories & shoes are key to making the jumpsuit a statement, though.
Because the jumpsuit I’m wearing has a dramatic open back design, the accessories should be a little more understated. Adding the gold flats dresses it up & the minimal jewelry allows the jumpsuit to stand on its own. For another look, I would pair this with strappy wedges & statement earrings (such as these tassel ones).
DUSTER CARDIGAN OR KIMONO
I was never one for the long length cardigan look, but I have come to appreciate it! For a flowy, bohemian vibe, I paired my jumpsuit with this kimono from Bealls that my mother-in-law so nicely got for me! You could wear this look with flats, sandals, or a strappy heel for a more dressy look.
For a fall look, you could pair this jumpsuit with a long length cardigan like this one from Old Navy & a pair of ankle books like these from Target. It’s a great transition piece from summer to fall! One more note: you can also add a belt to the look to add a bit of definition to your waistline.
KNOTTED TEE OR TANK
This is one of my favorite ways to wear this piece! It’s a great casual look for a Saturday hanging around or out to the farmers market. You can tie up any tank or tee (center or side tie) and it will work!
The tank is from Target, linked here and the shoes are from DSW, linked here. I am considering buying the shoes in another color because I love them so much! You could also wear this look with sandals.
CROPPED OR REGULAR TEE
So it could be considered a reiteration of the one before, but I feel that wearing the tee untied gives the jumpsuit a completely different look. There’s also a caveat with this one; I wouldn’t wear it with a super tight tee, but I would pair it with something flowy or cropped. Add a pair of casual shoes and you’ve got a look!
DENIM JACKET
Adding a denim jacket to this jumpsuit makes it perfect to wear into fall! I love the look with or without the hat.
And I will apologize because I did not remember to take a picture of the jumpsuit & denim jacket without the white tee (the 6th way to wear it alluded to in the title). I think wearing it with just the jumpsuit would look great & make the outfit a bit more dressy. I would pair that outfit with my mules from DSW & add a long necklace. Denim jacket is from Old Navy & I highly recommend it!

July 12, 2018 at 9:41 pmHello Andi-love the blog! Good stuff. That kimono is on point!!! Could you maybe do a tutorial on how to tie a cute knot in a T-shirt? I know this sounds stupid, but I can never make a cute knot like that. Thanks for your consideration! I’m a big fan of yours.
